Irans nuclear chief says the countryhas answered all the questions raised bythe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over Tehran'snuclear energy program.
Western countries attached a political historyto our countrys nuclear issue, while weanswered all their 18 technical questions, said the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, in a televised program on Saturday.

He said the six countries are still expecting answers from Iran as they have politicized the issue. The P5+1 group has announced that there is still room for discussion on two questions. The IAEAhas, however, almost accepted all the answers."

Salehi underlined that Iran's nuclear issue can be settled through political will.

Our countrys nuclear issue is not technicaland can be resolved onlythrough political will, he noted.

Nuclear negotiators from Iran and the P5+1 group the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany wrapped up their latest round of talks on Tehrans nuclear program in Geneva on December 17, 2014.

The three-day Geneva discussions were held almost three weeks after Tehran and the six countries failed to reach a final agreement by a November 24 deadline despite making some progress.

The two sides agreed to extend their discussions for seven more months until July 1, 2015. They also agreed that the interim deal they had signed in Geneva in November 2013 should remain in place during the negotiations.
