Islamic unity, sole path to have Israel to perish: expert
Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA -- A senior Iranian expert in regional affairs says the ISIL terror group and its likes have served as a tool in the hand of the enemies in demoting the Muslim cause of Palestinian liberation.
Fouad Izadi was speaking to Qods News Agency on the sidelines of an international conference in Tehran on Muslim unity.
The university professor said the terror groups sought to present a perceived threat of Shia as the main issue for the Muslim community in a campaign that may only be identified with the US and Israeli foreign policy.

The expert said the terror groups have been a drain on Muslim resources as they diverted the Muslim attention from the Zionist regime to internal discords. Izadi singled out the case of Syria in his argument.

The expert said the unity conference could be instrumental in refocusing the Muslim attention on the Palestinian issue and having them united in an anti-Israeli struggle.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior Iranian expert said the Israeli lobby continues to influence the US foreign policy including in the Islamophobia propaganda. The influence could be traced in the US cultural sphere, Hollywood and social circles, Izadi added.

28th International Conference on Islamic Unity started in Tehran on Wednesday under the banner of single Muslim community, challenges and solutions. It wrapped up Friday.

The participant approved the idea that the Palestinian issue and the struggle against the Zionist regime was a key foreign policy for the Muslim community.

The scholars also underlined the idea that hostile states have played a key role in the emergence of the ISIL terror group and its negative effect on the Palestinian issue.
