Tehran, Jan 10, IRNA – Chairman of Iran National Carpet Center Hamid Kargar said Iran’s export of hand woven carpets rose by 24 percent during the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2014).
He noted that the amount, worth over dlrs 202 million, had a growth which has been unprecedented in the past.
He described the present conditions of the Iranian carpet market as satisfactory and expressed hope that carpet export would further boost in the future.
Kargar urged the US to lift sanctions on the import of Iranian carpets which has been in place for the past four years because he said the act in fact was aimed at imposing sanctions on the Iranian artists and art crafts.
