German parliament VP due in Iran soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Vice-President of the German Bundestag (parliament) is slated to pay an official visit to Tehran later this month and hold talks with senior Iranian officials to explore avenues for closer ties between the two countries.



Heading a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, the vice-president of Bundestag plans to arrive in Tehran on Thursday, January 22.





During their four-day visit to Iran, the German MPs are scheduled to meet with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani as well as other high-ranking officials and discuss issues of mutual interest.

Iran and Germany have taken major steps to boost mutual cooperation between the two nations in diverse areas, particularly in the sphere of economy.

Germany, Europe's biggest economy, is traditionally Iran's most important trading partner in the 28-nation European Union.
