Nobakht says US reneged on interim nuclear deal by fresh sanctions

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA Government spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht said Monday that the United States reneged on the interim nuclear deal signed on November 24, 2013 by fresh sanctions.
He made the remarks responding to a question about the new sanctions the United States imposed on Iran in blatant breach of the interim nuclear deal the two parties signed in Geneva.
Nobakht said that the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled its undertaking as per the nuclear deal and the United States broke its promise not to impose new sanctions in the process of the nuclear talks.

The Americans tried to persuade the world that Iran was not ready to engage in logical negotiations, and now if they impose new sanctions on Tehran, it would become evident to the world that the US government is not honest and that would be a great victory for the Iranian nation.

On the possibility of adoption of a new oil embargo on Iran, Nobakht said:'during the past few years we have prepared ourselves for oil-free economy and budgetin case such a thing happens, we will actually completely get rid of reliance on oil.'
