The Iraqi army has repelled an attack by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists on a military station near the countrys border with Saudi Arabia, reports say.According to military sources, militants attacked Anazh military station on the Iraqi-Saudi border west of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar Province, with ensuing clashes lasting for more than two hours.
Two Takfiri terrorists were killed and four others were injured while the Iraqi forces lost one of their troops and another was injured.
The militants attacked the border area after they were expelled from Ratba district in the western province of Anbar.
Meanwhile, over two dozen militants were killed after Iraqi security forces repelled another ISIL attack in the al-Baghdadi district in Anbar. Earlier, ISIL terrorists had kidnapped scores of people east of the city of Tikrit.
According to security sources, Takfiri militants stormed the village of Arbidha, east of Tikrit, and abducted 80 young men from al-Ubaid tribe. Ten other ISIL Takfiris were killed in an army operation in Anbars Haditha district.
Iraqs ongoing military offensive against ISIL is part of a broader operation aimed at purging the Arab country of the Takfiri militants. The Iraqi army has so far managed to make many gains in the fight against the group.
The ISIL terrorists control some parts of Syria and Iraq. They are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
