Iran seeking to open trade development centers abroad

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran plans to establish several branches of its Trade Development Organization in other countries, said Deputy Director of the Organization for Marketing Strategy Abutaleb Badri.
"Iran approved opening ten branches of Trade Development Organization in other countries," he said.

Badri stressed that exchanging commercial counselors to other countries is one of the priorities for the organization, adding that, "We have now 11 commercial counselors to other countries and we are seeking to send 30 others."

He also noted that establishing branches of the organization in other countries would help Iran monitor markets of other countries.

Iran is seeking to raise its exports to other countries.

Director General of Planning and Trade of Iran Trade Development Organization Farhad Nouri has already said that the country's non-oil exports in the first eight months of Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2014) jumped by 20 percent comparing to similar period last year.

"Iran's goods and gas condensations exports hit $31.498 billion during the period," he said.

He further noted that Iran sold 63.447 million tons of non-oil products, including gas condensations, petrochemicals, suitcase trade and other goods, adding that the exports rose respectively by 7.6 and 20 percent respectively in terms of weight and value.

The exported goods mainly included $1.375 billion of liquefied propane which comprised 6 percent of value of Iranian exports.

He also said the main Iranian clients have been China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and India.

According to the Iranian trade official, Iran's exports to the countries respectively reached $5.979 billion, $4.026 billion, $2.450 billion, $1.634 billion and $1.430 billion.

China received 26.3 percent of the total value of Iranian exports, Iraq 17.7 percent, the UAE 10.8, Afghanistan 7.2 and India 6.3 percent.
