TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran's exports to Italy is two time more than its imports from the European country, said Head of Iran-Italy Chamber of Commerce Ahmad Pourfalah.
"Iran's exports to Italy totaled 165 million and its imports hit 85 million over the first seven months of Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2014), showing positive balance of trade between the two countries," he said.
Pourfalah said Italy is one of European countries with which Iran's balance of trade has always been positive.
"We are trying to activate Iran-Italy joint economic commission because it can dramatically influence economic ties between the two countries," he added.
Iran mainly exports stone, leather, pistachio, saffron, oil and petrochemicals to Italy, he said, adding Iranian and Italian textile machinery and profile companies are working closely.
Iran is also importing tile, toilets and clothing from the country.
