Iran iron ore reserves increase by 90m tons

Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA Following new discoveries in Iran, 30 tons of gold, 90 million tons of iron ore and 120 million tons of coal were added to the country's reserves.
Excavation operations undertaken jointly by Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO), Mining Department of Industry, Mines and Trade Ministry and Organization of Geology and Mining Excavations register a remarkable increase in operations in the past nine months compared to the corresponding period last year.
New operations for excavating minerals covering 200,000 square kilometers of susceptible areas nationwide began last winter and will continue for three years.
