AP report on Iran, US N-talk agreement baseless: Afkham

TEHRAN, Jan. 03 (MNA) Irans FM spokeswoman has denied Associated Press claims on Iran and the US agreement on a formula to reduce Tehrans nuclear program.
Marzieh Afkham slammed the Associated Press report as baseless and stressed that there has been no deal on any issue regarding Irans nuclear program.

Afkham further criticized such moves by the media, asserting that the goal of these reports was to complicate and demolish the nuclear talks.

Associated Press claimed on Friday that Iran and the United States had tentatively agreed on a formula that would reduce Tehrans enrichment capacity by shipping much of its stockpile of enriched uranium to Russia.

This report came as Iran and the six states are preparing to have the second round of nuclear talks after the seven-month extension in Geneva on January 15.

Failing to reach an agreement by Nov. 24, 2014, Iran and the G5+1 countries - Russia, China, Britain, the US, France plus Germany- decided to extend their discussions for seven more months. They also agreed that the interim deal they had signed in the Swiss city of Geneva last November remain in place during the remainder of the negotiations until July 1, 2015.
