TEHRAN (FNA)- Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi underlined that the Iranian Armed Forces' massive Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) wargames proved that there is no need to the presence of the trans-regional forces for maintaining security in the region.
"These military drills (Mohammad Rasoulallah) proved that our forces are capable of maintaining security of the region," Boroujerdi told reporters during his visit to Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) military exercises in the city of Jask, in Southern Iran, on Wednesday.

He reiterated that peace, friendship and establishment of security through unity was the main message of the wargames for the regional and neighboring countries.

Different units of the Iranian Army's Ground Force, Navy, Air Force and Air Defense ended seven days of massive joint military drills along the country's Southern and Southeastern coasts on Wednesday.

The military exercises codenamed Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) covered an area of 2.2 million square kilometers from the East of the Strait of Hormuz to the Southern parts of the Gulf of Aden.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems, but it has repeatedly stressed that it military progress and achievements are only aimed at deterrent purposes.
