Russian expert says west is not pleased with Iran-Russia friendship

Moscow, Dec 29, IRNA -- Head of Center for Contemporary Iran Studies in Russia, Recep Safarov, said on Monday that the west does not like friendship of Iran and Russia and attempted to divide the two countries.
Safarov made the remarks in a political debate.
He said that the western governments see Iran-Russia friendship against their own interests and that is the reason for prolongation of nuclear talks.

The Russian expert said the western governments do not like to see Iran progress and some other countries in the Middle East share such a view.

'The main problem with the West is how to use Iran's potentials against Russia. It is obvious from stances of the US and Russia.'

Safarov said that Iran has not the chance to retreat and will not cross the redline.

He said Iran will not succumb to western pressure because it takes it against its own interests.
