MP: Petchem investment key to resistance economy

TEHRAN Dec 28 (Shana)--Completing the value chain of Iran's petrochemical industry is key to its policies of resistance economy, said Planning, Budgetary and Auditing Commission of Parliament.
Mousareza Servati said the petrochemical and oil industries should be assisted by investments to revive domestic production, adding that the Iranian society will benefit the most from expansion of the industries because most of their stockholders are pensioners and ordinary Iranians.
He described the future of Iran's petrochemical industry as bright given the plans and projects envisaged for the industry that await timely investments.
The MP further underlined the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's stress on avoiding the sale of crude oil, and said mid-stream and downstream sectors of the oil industry should be developed to bring the country massive value added.
He further called for major investments in productive industries of the country like development of refineries and petrochemical plants as a key measure for economic progress of the nation.
