ISIL militants plan to kill UK Queen's Guard: Reports

ISIL militants plan to kill UK Queen
The ISIL terror group plans to attack the soldiers in the UK Queen's Guard that protect the country's royal residences, reports say.
Intelligence picked up [Internet] chatter which is being taken seriously. ISIS (ISIL) knows it would be very difficult to attack a member of the Royal family, but one of the Queens Guard would be a huge target for them, British media quoted a senior source in the government as saying on Saturday.

The unnamed source added that authorities have already taken necessary actions and the threat is so acute that some Queen's guards have changed their positions.

The reports come a year after British army soldier Lee Rigby was killed in southeast London. The jury at London's Old Bailey unanimously found two British nationals, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, guilty of murdering 25-year-old Rigby as he returned to the Woolwich barracks in south London on May 22, 2013.

ISIL militants control some parts of Syria and Iraq. They are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control and have terrorized and killed people of all communities including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.

According to an October report by the UN Security Council, 15,000 foreigners have flocked to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside the ISIL or other terrorist groups.

British intelligence sources say there are around 500 British militants in the two countries.
