As to Iran's supports for religious minorities in Iraq, he said the common interests shared by Iran and Iraq makes it necessary for Tehran to render support to Iraq.

Nothing that Iran is facing the same threats Iraq is exposed to, the official said the plight caused by Daesh which is present in Iraq is also a menace for Iran.

He referred to the huge gathering of Muslims in Iraq on the occasion of Arbaeen as a public show of force by the Shiite people which was held in utter peace and security.
