TEHRAN Iran has been conducting seminars, contests and other programs during the past three years to help young Afghans to return their country.
A senior official said the purpose of these activities of Afghans was to make them familiar with the true aspects of their original country. The official said about one million registered Afghan refugees are presently living in Iran. The Interior Ministry official for foreign nationals and expatriates Reza Mohseni made the remark in a press conference, IRNA News reported Friday.

He noted that Iran has been rendering remarkable services to foreign refugees in the past three decades. He said that the second and third generations of Afghan refugees living in Iran are not familiar with their own country and many of them have not even visited Afghanistan. This will help motivate young Afghans to return to their country of origin, the official added.
