The Iraqi Army, backed by local tribesmen, has killed 36 ISIL Takfiri militants in fresh clashes in the troubled western province of al-Anbar. The clashes occurred on Wednesday as the Iraqi Army repelled an attack by the ISIL militants on a town west of the provincial capital of Ramadi.
On Wednesday, the ISIL Takfiri militants launched chlorine gas strikes on a sub-district in the city of Hit in al-Anbar. The ISIL militants attacked the Baghdadi district with mortar shells loaded with chlorine gas.
In one of the bloodiest incidents in recent weeks, at least 43 Iraqi volunteer forces lost their lives in a bomb attack on anti-ISIL fighterssouth of the capital Baghdad on Wednesday.
The attack took place after an bomber blew himself up among the soldiers at an army post in the town of Maidan south of Baghdad. The soldiers have gathered in the outpost to collect their monthly wages. More than 61 others were also wounded in the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the assault yet; however, previous attacks, aimed at security forces and pro-government fighters in Iraq, have been claimed by ISIL Takfiri militants.
The ISIL terrorist group continues to control some parts of Syria and Iraq. The Takfiris have engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control, including mass murdering local civilians as well as captured army and security officers while terrorizing people from diverse communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
