Lebanon names road after murdered Iranian in charge of reconstruction

The Iranian foundation of contribution for rebuilding Lebanon has continuously pledged to help rebuild Lebanon following the damage caused by the 2006 Israeli aggression. Multiple highways and roads across Lebanon have been rebuilt by the Iranians.
On Thursday, a 45-kilometer road in the southern Lebanese village of Nabatiyeh was launched and named after the late Iranian military commander Hesam Khoshnevis. He was in charge of reconstruction projects throughout the south of the country. He was killed on a road linking Damascus to Beirut in 2013. The event attracted hundreds of people as well as high ranking Lebanese officials who were there to thank Iran and remember Khoshnevis. Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Fathali, said helping Lebanon is the least Iran can do for the resistant Lebanese. This road was target of the Israelis in their 2006 offensive on Lebanon and therefore residents of the local town of Nabtiyeh see this road as a path to victory. Iran has been helping Lebanon in reconstruction of South Lebanon following the Israeli aggression in 2006. This latest 45-km road in honor of engineer Hesam Khoshnevis links the south of Lebanon to the Western Bekaa region. This is yet another helping hand from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon.
