Armed forces strategic studies chief blames S. Arabia for executing US crude price fall plot
TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Iranian Armed Forces' Strategic Studies Center said the sharp reduction in oil prices is the result of a plot hatched by the US and exercised by Saudi Arabia.
"Saudi Arabia is the main executor of the crude price fall plot against the Muslim world," Brigadier General Hassan Rastegarpanah said.

He further slammed Saudi Arabia for running the proxy wars in the Middle East and the Muslim world which are masterminded by the US.

"The proxy wars in the region which resulted in human and financial losses both for the Shiites and the Sunnis have been conducted by Saudi Arabia," General Rastegarpanah said.

"The plot for waging war between Shiites and Sunnis in the region has failed and Muslims now see unity as their biggest weapon to confront the enemy."

He reiterated that Syria is Iran's frontline in confrontation against Israel, and said, "After sporadic defeats in Syria and Iraq, the enemy has hatched a new plot against the Muslim nations, which is increasing reduction of crude prices."

General Rastegarpanah warned that all Muslim countries would suffer from reduction of oil prices, and said, "The Muslim states have sustained more than $500 billion in losses from the declining oil prices."

He underlined that the US is the plotter and Saudi Arabia is the executer of this and other plots in the region, and further ensured that the Muslim countries will win the oil war against the Americans and their allies.

Earlier this week, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi blasted Saudi Arabia for serving the western countries' interests by producing excessive oil.

"By increasing oil production, Saudi Arabia assured the US and the West, which represent the world's big capital holders, that they will not be restricted for supplying fuel and on the other hand by decreasing the oil prices, it laid financial pressure on the regional countries which are fighting the ISIL terrorists," Firouzabadi said in Tehran on Wednesday.

He voiced regret that the regional countries have sustained $500bln worth of losses due to the increasing crude output by Saudi Arabia and its pro-ISIL allies, adding that Riyadh has strengthened the western states' financial system with a $300bln gift.

Also, Iranian Supreme Leader's representative at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ali Saeedi said in relevant remarks on Wednesday that "Saudi Arabia's wrath at Iran's influence" is the underlying cause of the falling crude prices.

Also earlier this month, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani warned that the decrease in oil prices in recent months was the result of a plot hatched by certain countries.

The fall of oil prices is a manufactured and political plot, he said.

"The reduction in crude oil prices is not an economic issue, rather a political plot and planning by certain countries," Shamkhani added.

President Hassan Rouhani also stated last Wednesday that the sudden decrease in oil prices in recent months is a plot hatched by the enemies against the regional people and Muslims.
