Iran nuclear talks look promising: Russian deputy FM
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the talks on Iran nuclear deal, saying that the negotiations look very promising and the sides have agreed to the next round of negotiations at the level of deputy foreign ministers in mid-January.
GENEVA, December 17 (Sputnik) ThetalksbetweenTehran and the group ofsix international mediators onIran's nuclear programlook very promising asthe sides continue bridging their differences, Russian Deputy Foreign MinisterSergei Ryabkovsaid Wednesday.

"In general, we have accomplished a lot inall aspects, and even inareas where the differences still remain we continue tocome closer inour positions," Ryabkov, who is Russia's envoy atthe talks said.

"I think that the talks are looking promising," the diplomat said, followinga fresh roundof Iran nuclear talks inGeneva.

Ryabkov also said that the sides agreed tothe next roundof negotiations atthe level ofdeputy foreign ministers inmid-January.

"The place is still being coordinated withthe Iranian delegation," Ryabkov said.

Earlier inthe day, the deputy Foreign Minister said that an agreement onIran's nuclear program would boost global security and expressed hope that there would be no rollback inthe talks.

The P5+1 group ofsix world powers, comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany joined diplomatic efforts back in2006 inan attempt toreach a deal withthe Tehran authorities, assuring the peaceful nature ofthe Iranian nuclear program.

The roundof talks betweenIran and the P5+1 group held inNovember inVienna shortly beforethe previously announced deadline did not produce a comprehensive deal onIran's nuclear program and the sides agreed tocontinue the discussions untilJuly 2015.
