Iran ends talks with P5+1, begins bilateral talks with Russian envoy

Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA Two hours of nuclear talks between senior diplomats from Iran and the six world powers -- widely known as the P5+1 -- came to an end in Geneva on Wednesday and Iranian diplomats began bilateral talks with the Russian envoy to Iran talks shortly afterwards.

After talks with Sergei Ryabkov, the Iranian delegation, led by Foreign Ministry deputies Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi, are scheduled to hold talks with the Chinese envoy at 15:00 and in a separate meeting at 16:00 o'clock local time, negotiate with representatives from the three European countries Germany, Britain and France.


Iran and the P5+1 the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany failed to meet a November 24 deadline for reaching a comprehensive deal to put an end to 12 years of the nuclear dispute.

In the last round of nuclear talks in Vienna, foreign ministers of Iran and the six governments extended the deadline for another seven months until July 1, 2015.
