Official: Falling oil prices a plot connected to Iran nuclear program

Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA Secretary of Iran's Human Rights Council Mohammad Javad Larijani on Monday said that the plunge in oil prices is a plot, part of which is hatched by those seeking excessive demands in nuclear talks with Iran.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an international seminar on negative impacts of economic and financial sanctions on advantages of human rights, Larrijani touched upon the extension of Iran's nuclear talks with the West and said that all the Iranian people and officials support the administration of President Hassan Rouhani in the course of negotiations.

All the members of the Iranian negotiating team are experienced diplomats, Larijani said, adding that naturally these talks would benefit the national interests of the Iranian nation.

'All of us would like the nuclear talks to bear fruit,' Larijani said.

However he noted that it should not be forgotten that the negotiations have two sides. He said that 'If the nuclear talks fail, the improper behavior and the excessive demands of the other side should be blamed.'
