Minister underlines abundant capacities of Iran, Venezuela to boost ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said both Iran and Venezuela, as two rich countries located in two strategic regions, are resolved to advance relations to flourish their economies.
Speaking in a meeting with the Venezuelan Finance Minister Rodolfo Marco Torres in Tehran on Tuesday, Nematzadeh expressed the hope that the two sides' relations would be further bolstered through removal of existing obstacles.

Iran seeks to examine various methods to remove hurdles and minimize impacts of anti-Iran economic sanctions, he said.

The Venezuelan finance minister and vice president, for his part, said late Venezuelan president Hugo Chaves attached importance for expansion of economic cooperation with Iran.

The two sides also called for bolstering of relations within OPEC.

They also exchanged views over providing Venezuela with Iran-made essential commodities.

Iran has in recent years expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields.

Iran's strong and rapidly growing ties with Latin America, specially with Venezuela, have raised eyebrows in the US and its western allies since Tehran and Latin nations have forged an alliance against the imperialist and colonialist powers and are striving hard to reinvigorate their relations with the other independent countries which pursue a line of policy independent from the US.
