Tehran, Dec 9, IRNA - Visiting Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem held talks with President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the international conference on World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) here on Tuesday.
The two sides also reviewed the necessity of tackling violence and extremism, issues of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments.
Visiting Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jafari is also scheduled to hold talks with President Rouhani today.

President Rouhani inaugurated the international conference on World against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) in Tehran this morning.

Experts and scholars from 40 countries are participating in the event.

The first conference on World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) is being held in Tehran on December 9-10, a year after the UN General Assembly adopted President Rouhani's proposal calling for the 'World Against Violence and Extremism'.
