Iranian women interested in sports: FISU official

Tehran, Dec 6, IRNA – A member of the International University Sports Federation’s (FISU) presiding board said on Saturday that Iran is a sports community wherein Women are tremendously interested in sports.
  She said on the sidelines of Seminar themed ‘Woman, Sports and Media, that Iran’s women athletes have made a lot of progress in recent years and attained remarkable successes in international scene.

Describing role of media in reflecting such achievements as significant, she noted that the media can play a crucial role in the sector’s growth through wide coverage of relevant news.

‘Women athletes enjoy all facilities, but, at the same time, they are facing problems,’ she said.

International Scientific-Sports Seminar ‘Women, Sports and Media’ opened in Tehran on Saturday morning and will work for two days.
