FM spokeswoman slams US discriminatory policies on colored people

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Sunday that the conditions prevailing in the US points to a clear gap between its claim of democracy and realities in its policy.
Speaking in Tehran on Sunday, Afkham said, 'The conditions prevailing in the US indicate an obvious gap between the country's claim of democracy and realities in its politics.'
She referred to racial discrimination in the US and said massive protests by American people against racial discrimination and the institutionalized violent behavior towards the colored people, is a sign of persistent chronic scars in the US community.

She criticized the behavior of the US police and the implicit support of the country's judicial system for racial segregation and violence against minority groups, saying the US policy makers and rulers need a profound approach to their country's domestic conditions.

The foreign ministry spokeswoman went on to say that the US administration has over the past few decades abused human rights and adopted double-standard policies against other countries while ignoring its own domestic conditions.

Afkham underlined that human rights is a broad-based category covering all human beings and the time has come to consider this important issue free from political considerations.

'The US administration and judicial system are expected to perform their responsibility and treat all American citizens on equal footing based on law and prevent any racial discrimination and inhumane approach.
