Lebanese minister calls for cultural relations with Iran

Beirut, Dec 1, IRNA Lebanese Minister of Culture Raymond Araiji called for development of art and cultural cooperation with Iran.
In a meeting with Iran's Head of Islamic Culture and Communications Organization (ICCO) Abozar Ebrahimi Turkman here on Monday, Araiji, by referring to growth of radicalism in the region, said that strengthening cultural activities is an important element in direction of curbing violence and radicalism.
He welcomed Iran's efforts in fight against radicalism in the region.

Ebrahimi Turkman, for his part, by referring to common historical background and cultural and civilizational commonalities between Iran and Lebanon, underlined necessity of development of connections and cultural cooperation.

Head of ICCO called for compiling a joint executive program between Tehran and Beirut in this concern.

Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fatahali and Embassy's cultural attach Seyed Hassan Sehhat were present in the meeting, too.

Araiji and Ebrahimi Turkman agreed on a joint plan to hold cultural and film weeks in the two countries next year.

The two sides also agreed on exchanging experts and setting a timetable for art and cultural activities between the two countries in the upcoming months.

Araiji and Ebrahimi Turkman also discussed regional situation and condemned Takfiris' crimes, which have caused damage to human culture and civilization.
