Berlin, Dec 2, IRNA � Iran's representative to the 19th annual conference of prohibition of chemical weapons, called for removing restrictions and illegal sanctions.
��He also called for meeting the needs of victims of chemical weapons.
Secretary of Foreign Ministry commission of disarmament conventions, Hadi Farajvand made the remarks while addressing the 19th conference of member countries of Organization of Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, Netherland.

Briefing the audience on Iran's stands concerning developments related to prohibition of chemical weapons convention, he said existence of such weapons in the world endangers the international peace and security.

Farajvand called on owners of such weapons to fulfill their commitments within the framework of the convention and annihilate the weapons and their stockpiles.

He continued that, Iran as the biggest victim of chemical weapons with tens of thousands of people affected by such deadly and inhuman weapons, appreciated the decision of 16th conference of member countries in establishment of an international body to support the victims of chemical weapons.

Referring to the importance of the convention and its role in establishment of global peace and security, the envoy stressed that the stockpile of mass destruction weapons of the Zionist regime is a great danger for regional and international peace and security.

He also urged the member states to make Israel join the convention and put its arsenals and stockpiles of the chemical weapons under international control and supervision.

The organization was founded in 1997 and currently has 190 members countries, except the Zionist regime, Myanmar, Egypt, Somalia, North Korea and South Sudan.

The 19th annual conference of the member states of chemical weapons prohibition organization kicked off its 5-day session on Monday, December 1, in The Hague.
