MP: Nuclear talks should bear fruits soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the Iranian negotiating team should obtain results in talks with six world powers as soon as possible.
Boroujerdi praised the performance of the Iranian negotiators in the course of the nuclear talks and blamed the US excessive demands for missing the November 24 deadline.

Americans had a very poor performance in the negotiations in Muscat and Vienna. To reach desirable results, Americans should take big steps and abandon their excessive demands, Boroujerdi told the Tasnim News Agency.

He also said Washingtons behavior in the nuclear talks has been largely affected by pressures from the Zionists as well as certain regional countries.

We should gain a desirable result in the framework of the guidelines of the Supreme National Security Council in the shortest possible time because Irans ideas on some articles are very close to those of Group 5+1 and I think big and useful steps can be taken to safeguard the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Boroujerdi noted.

He said even if the nuclear talks between Tehran and the six world powers failed, Iran would turn victorious given the fact that it has already proven to the world public opinion that it has never been after nuclear weapons and has always been open to dialogue and logic.

Back on Thursday, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the US will be the main loser if the nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers fail.

The Iranian nation and the other negotiating parties should note that the US will be the main loser if the nuclear talks fail, Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to the members of Basij Organization in Tehran on Thursday.

Imam Khamenei also praised the serious endeavors and resistance of the Iranian negotiating team in the course of the nuclear talks and said the Iranian diplomats, unlike their American counterparts, dont change their words on a daily basis.

The Leader also slammed the US double standard approach toward the nuclear talks and said the US officials comments in their private meetings and letters are a far cry from their remarks made in the public.

He also pointed to the remarks by the US officials regarding the necessity of maintaining the security of Israel in the light of the nuclear talks and said, Israel will be made more insecure on a daily basis with or without a nuclear deal.

Ayatollah Khamenei underscored that the entire Iranian nation will stand up to excessive demands in the nuclear talks.

In the [nuclear] negotiations, if sensible things are said and fair and wise arrangements are made, we will agree to them; but, Iranians, from the masses of the people to all officials, will stand up to excessive demands, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated.

Earlier this week, top diplomats from Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) decided to extend talks on Tehrans peaceful nuclear program for more seven months.
