Iranian economy minister confers with Turkish president

Istanbul, Nov 28, IRNA - Iranian Economy Minister, Ali Tayyebnia, conferred with with Turkish President Recep Teyyib Erdogan on latest developments in the two countries' bilateral relations on Friday.
Tayyebnia conveyed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's invitation message for visiting Iran to Erdogan.
Tayyebnia and Erdogan stressed expansion of all out ties and raising volume of trade exchanges between the two countries upto 30 billion dollars.

Iranian economy minister arrived here on Wednesday to attend the 30th Session of the OIC Standing Committee on Commercial and Economic Cooperation (COMCEC) General Assembly.

The COMCEC General Assembly is scheduled to be held in Istanbul from 25 to 28 November 2014, chaired by the Turkish president.

Senior experts of the Standing Committee of COMCEC had long and intensive meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare the agenda for the Thursday and Friday ministerial meeting.

The Iranian delegation in that meeting proposed holding the COMCEC Health Tourism meeting in Irans Holy Mashhad City, which was welcomed by the member states.

The Standing Committee of COMCEC, dubbed as the COMCEC Committee, is one of the specialized OIC committees and decision on its establishment was made during the 1981 OIC Summit Meeting. It was decided in that year that Turkey will be both the permanent COMCEC chairman and its host.

Yet, COMCEC was actually established in 1984 aimed at development of economic cooperation and harmony among the OIC member states.
