TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and the member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) pledged to do their best for widening and deepening all-out ties.Iranian Roads and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi, who had attended SAARC 2014 session in Nepal on Wednesday, held separate meetings with SAARC Secretary General Arjun Bahadur Thapa, Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgey and Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on the sidelines of the 18th SAARC Summit Meeting.
In his meeting with Bahadur Thapa, the Iranian minister exchanged viewpoints on mechanisms and fields for cooperation with SAARC member states through that organizations secretariat.
Akhoundi further highlighted Irans high level expertise in road construction and most energy fields and readiness for cooperation with SAARC member countries in both fields.
In his meeting with the Nepalese premier, Akhoundi voiced Irans readiness for strengthening of ties with the country.
Koirala, for his part, welcomed the presence of Iranian companies in his country and announced that after leaving behind 13 years of internal crises Nepal is now ready to use the capabilities of the Iranian companies.
Akhoundi, in a meeting with the Bhutanese premier, announced Irans readiness for development of transit and energy cooperation with that country.
Tobgey, for his part, voiced Bhutans readiness to use the SAARC observing members capabilities, especially in transpiration and energy fields.
SAARC members include India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Maldives and its observer members are Iran, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and Australia.
