The negotiations with Iran are tough and complex, but a comprehensive agreement would bring enormous benefits to all parties, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said Tuesday.
LONDON, November 25 (Sputnik) A comprehensivenuclear dealwithIran should not come atany price, butit should clearly state that Tehran would not be able todevelop a nuclear weapons capability, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said Tuesday."We cannot and will not succumb tothe temptation ofsealing a deal atany price, butwe will remain steadfast inpursuit ofa comprehensive agreement which respects the clear principle that Iran must not be able todevelop a nuclear weapons capability," Hammond said atthe House ofCommons.

"The negotiations withIran are tough and complex, buta comprehensive agreement would bring enormous benefits toall parties," Hammond stated, explaining that it would mean the "reintegration intothe international community" forIran, and "a considerable advance forregional and global security" forthe international community.

The latest roundof talks betweenIran and theP5+1countries (Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany) wrapped upin Vienna onMonday withthe parties having failed toreach a comprehensive deal onIran's nuclear programbythe earlier set November 24 deadline. The sides agreed toprolong the Geneva agreements and continue their dialogue untilJuly 2015.The West has been accusing Iran ofdeveloping nuclear weapons underthe guise ofcivilian activities, though this has been repeatedly denied byofficials inTehran, who claim the country's nuclear development is peaceful innature and aimed atsatisfying Iran's energy needs.
