Iranian N. negotiator upbeat about continuation of talks with powers

TEHRAN (FNA)- Member of Iran's negotiating team Majid Takht Ravanchi said that Tehran is determined to continue nuclear talks with the six major world powers to cut a final deal before the new deadline, in July, 2015.
We are optimistic and believe we can achieve final agreement in a very short while, but telling its exact date is unpredictable, said Takht Ravanchi who is also the Iranian deputy foreign minister.

Our viewpoints on many issues have got close to each other and the reason why we did not achieve agreement within the defined period was the time barrier. If we had a little more time, we could have finalized the job in this round of negotiations, he added.

On Tuesday, Iran and the six world powers (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) adopted a final decision to extend the negotiations process for several months.

Yes, the decision has been made, a source said.

Other sources said the talks have been extended until July 10, and the world powers have taken up to release $700 million of Iran's frozen assets on a monthly basis.

The 10th and last round of negotiations between Iran and the six world powers was held in Vienna in a bid to reach a final deal.

In July, Tehran and the six countries agreed to extend the negotiations until November 24 after they failed to reach an agreement on a number of key issues.
