Iran-Venezuela cement plant goes on stream

Tehran, Nov 22, IRNA - The Venezuelan Cerro Azul cement plant has begun clinker production.
The factory was established by the subsidiary companies of Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization.
After launching the crusher and cement mill departments of the project, the cement kiln department of the factory, as the plants most important unit, went on stream successfully.

Pilot cement production in Cerro Azul plant began in September.

The factory has an annual output capacity of 1 million tons of cement.

The plant is located in the municipality of Piar in the Venezuelan state of Monagas. Construction of the plant is being executed together with the Iranian company Ehdasse Sanat Venezuela.

Once completed, the plant will account for 12 percent of Venezuelas cement production, contributing to the countrys housing initiative la Gran Misin Vivienda Venezuela. The plant is strategically located near a limestone quarry with around 100 years worth of reserves.
