Iran committed to Caspian Sea peace: Navy commander
TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Navy commander voiced the countrys willingness to maintain friendly ties with its Caspian Sea littoral states.


The (Caspian) Sea is the sea of peace and friendship, and efforts are made to convey the message of peace and friendship to other countries, the military discussions are not much cared for, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said in a news conference in Tehran on Saturday, held ahead of the National Navy Day, which falls on November 28.




The commander, however, made it clear that a necessary degree of military preparedness is required to enable Iran to preserve its own water borders.

Back in September, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had called on the Caspian Sea littoral states to make joint efforts for the well-being of the lake.
