48 agreements inked for foreign investment
Hamedan, Nov 20, IRNA Some 48 agreements were signed in this western provincial capital city for joint venture with Russia, Japan, India and Tatarstan on the sidelines of an international conference on foreign investment in Hamedan, said caretaker of Governorate General's Planning Department Khosrow Sameri.
Speaking to IRNA on the second day of the Opportunities of Investment in the Provin, Sameri said on Thursday that the deals focused on activities in the fields of agriculture, development and industry.
He put the total value of the agreements at 15,000 billion Rials, saying that six other agreements worth of $65 million were also concluded with Iraqi Kurdistan economic group on exports of construction materials, livestock and meat, health tourism and trade.

Sameri estimated that further agreements would be signed on Thursday.

Hamedan province produces five million tons of agricultural products each year. Some 3.5 million tons of the figure have the potential to be processed.

Given its closeness to Tehran, the province is considered one of the susceptible regions for investment.

International Hamedan Investment Opportunities conference is attended by 500 Iranian and foreign investors. It is to end its work later on Thursday.
