Iran's nuclear team holds talks with Russian, German delegates

Vienna, Nov 19, IRNA The Iranian nuclear negotiating team held bilateral meetings with Russian and German delegations here on Wednesday.
Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi, senior member of the Iranian team, chaired the meeting with Russian delegation while discussions with the German team were presided by Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
Separate bilateral meetings are to be held later in the day with French, British and US delegations respectively.

The 10th round of nuclear talks between Iran and the six major powers (US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany) started in Vienna on Tuesday (November 18) with a working lunch attended by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the EU nuclear coordinator Catherine Ashton. Expert meeting was held later on Tuesday by participating delegates from both sides and lasted until late Tuesday night.

The expert meeting was co-chaired by Hamid Baeidinejad from Iran and Ashton's aide Stephen Clement.

The present round of talks is considered the most sensitive and important phase described by Zarif as the "last phase."

One day after the talks, no official from the two sides has commented on its progress while all reporters are anxiously waiting for an official statement.

November 24 has been set as a deadline to reach an inclusive deal to end the decades-long nuclear dispute between the two sides.

Zarif had previously expressed hope that November 24 would be the day of victory for Iranians to reach their nuclear objectives irrespective of the outcome of the talks --striking a deal or resistance against the other party's excessive demands.
