Canada to host Iran’s ‘Dastan’ ensemble concert

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA -Iran’s prominent ‘Dastan’ music ensemble is slated to perform a concert in Vancouver, Canada on December 13.
  The band’s musicians include Saeed Farajipour (traditional instrument kamancheh), Hamid Motebassem (tar and setar), Pejman Hadadi (tonbak and percussions), Hossein Behrouzi-nia (barbat), Behnam Samani (daf and percussions) and Hamed Afshari on (ghaychak).

The orchestra will perform musical compositions of vocalist Jamal Kordestani and composer Saeed Farajipour.
Founded in 1991 by Hamid Motabassem, ‘Dastan’ ensemble is a traditional Persian music ensemble which has held concerts in different countries across the globe.

The ensemble has performed at many cultural centers and festivals such as Fez-Festival (Morocco), Theatre de la Ville (Paris), and World Festival of Sacred Music the Americas (Los Angeles).
