Phase 16 close to gas production
TEHRAN Nov 10 (Shana)--Injection of nitrogen to phase 16 platform of the supergiant South Pars gas field was carried out successfully, and the platform is expected to come on stream soon.
Operator of the phase has stepped up efforts to bring online three gas refineries of the phase and raise gas production from phase 16 to at least 40 million cubic meters per day in winter.
Development plan of South Pars gas field phase 15&16 is aimed at production of 56.6 million liters of natural gas, 75 thousand barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur per day. Annual production of 1.05 million tons of liquid gas including LPG, propane and butane as well as one million tons of ethane is the other target of the development plan of the phase.
A consortium comprising Iranian companies led by Shahab Aria Naft Company is in charge of developing onshore and offshore sectors of the project.
South Pars gas field accounts for production of 300 million cubic meters of gas, or 72 percent of total daily gas consumption of Iran. Efforts are underway to raise gas production from the giant t gas field by 100 million cubic meters per day before the end of current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2015.

it is expected development of all the phases of South Pars gas field to come to an end in 2017.
