SP phase 12 to increase gas production

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA - When platforms B and C of Phase 12 of South Pars (SP) become operational, Iran's gas output will rise by 60 mcm, managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company said.
Ali Akbar Shabanpour added that Platform A of Phase 12 produced 1b cubic feet of gas in September 2013.

"Installation and commissioning stages of the two platforms of Phase 12 have been completed and they are in the pre-launch stage," he said.

Production of the two platforms will come on stream on December.

habanpour noted that when Phase 12 becomes fully operational, it will pump 81m cubic meters of gas into the national network daily.

Phase 12 is the biggest phase of South Pars in terms of scale, investment and production levels.

The South Pars Gas Field is estimated to contain 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18b barrels of gas condensates.

South Pars covers 3,700 square kilometers of Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. It adjoins Qatars North Field, which measures 6,000 square kilometers.
