Senior MP: Clinching nuclear deal in Oman likely

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA Senior Iranian parliamentarian Alaeddin Boroujerdi did not dismiss the chance of a clinching deal as the outcome of ongoing nuclear talks in Oman.
Member of the Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policies told reporters on Sunday that it was not unlikely for the Oman talks to produce some kind of a nuclear agreement.
However, he stressed, no optimistic predictions could say that everything will go well in Oman.

He said Iran has always been very transparent in its positions and has repeatedly stressed that it will by no way back down from its views.

He said it would be the US to blame if the talks failed to end in an agreement.

As for the venue of the talks, he explained that Oman is hosting the meeting because of its friendly ties with Iran.

This kind of relations, he noted, certainly does not affect the hard core issues of the talks.

He refuted claims that Oman has been acting as a go-between for the talks and said Iran has been holding talks with the US at foreign ministerial levels for years now.
