IFCO plans approved

TEHRAN Nov 1 (Shana)-- Iran Fuel Conservation Companys (IFCO) chief executive Nasrollah Saifi said the Council of Economy has approved two proposals introduced by Petroleum Ministry for conserving fuel consumption.
Saifi said approving the proposals will pave the way for creating thousands jobs in technical and production sectors.

The two proposals, he said, include a plan for supplying gas to Sistan and Balochestan province and boosting efficiency in 600 thousand motor rooms with 3.5 billion dollars cost.

Supplying gas to Sistan and Balouchestan province includes laying 890 km of pipeline with different diameters from 16 to 56 inches and installation of gas metering devices for 300 thousand households in some rural areas and cities of the province as well as building five thermal power plants in the province.

The project will replace consumption of more than 2 billion liters of oil products by natural gas and at the same time will curb the release of 100 thousand tons of greenhouse gases in the province.

Upgrading motor rooms installations will also save 13 mcm of gas per day and 5 bcm annually while reducing greenhouse gases by 9 million tons as well.
