Cairo film festival to host Iranian film The Corner

Iranian filmThe Cornerdirected by Abed Abest is slated to represent the countrys cinema at the 36th Cairo International Film Festival.
The film, made at Abest's home, will receive a special screening in two rounds at the festival.

Since Abest is the film's director, writer and only actor,The Corneris considered an individual cinematic creation.

The 75-minute film depicts a man named Amir who sits in front of his camera and starts to reveal whats happened to him and his three friends in one night and how he caused the death of his father and his niece.

Abest is acinema and theater actor who had a role in Shahram Mokris recent acclaimed dramaFish and Cat.

The line-up of the 2014 Cairo International Film Festival includes four international premieres, six world premiers and 55 Arab and African premieres, according to the festivals website.

Established in 1976, the festival is scheduled to run from November 9 to 18 at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt.
