Iran develops nano filter to prevent aquatic organisms diseases
TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) An Iranian scientist has developed a nano water filter which can prevent diseases in aquatic organisms.

Ali Jouhari, the Iranian researcher who has come up with the idea of developing a silver nanoparticles filter to prevent and control diseases in aquatic organisms, said, since the outbreak of disease causing a great damage to the aquaculture industry, I was struck with the idea of preventing and managing such diseases by using nanoparticles.

He noted that many diseases among aquatic organisms are transmitted to microorganisms through contaminated water and said, in this system, I have indirectly made use of silver nanoparticles in the form of water filters to prevent the outbreak and spread of a variety of fungal and bacterial diseases in aquaculture farms.

Jouhari maintained that this method will increase the survival rate as well as boost the breeders profits and said, using silver nanoparticles completely eliminates the need for antibiotics and other chemical drugs in aquaculture. This nano filter can be used for domestic and commercial aquarium water purification systems.
