Baghdad film festival honors Iran culture officials

The organizers of the 2014 Baghdad International Film Festival have expressed their gratitude to Iran for its cinematic help and support during recent years.
Iran's cultural office in Iraq played a significant role in holding the sixth Baghdad international film festival that took place from October 15 through 19.

The Iranian short film The Fourth Child directed by Hamid Mousaeian and the documentary Iranian Ninja by Khatereh Jalilzadeh received awards from the International Competition section of the festival.

This years Baghdad festival hosted over 111 screen creations from 35 countries.

Iran submitted 61 screen productions in various categories, with 10 Iranian films contending for awards at the competition section of the festival.

The festival was held in several sections including Long Fiction, Documentaries, Short Drama, Human Images (films with a human rights focus) and Arab Women Filmmakers.

Iran has recently opened a cinematic training center in Baghdad, offering diverse categories of filmmaking, acting, and screenplay writing.
