Iran, Netherlands determined to develop economic ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Dutch officials are due to explore different avenues for the further expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce Gholam Hossein Shafeyee, heading a delegation, arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday to meet the Dutch officials on bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.

The visit to the Netherlands took place at the invitation of the President of Netherlands' Chamber of Commerce Simoness.

It is expected that a new chapter of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of trade would start in the near future.

The Iranian delegation is to meet and discuss issues of mutual interest with the officials of public and private sectors and participate in two specialized sessions in The Hague.

Late in January, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underscored Irans constructive and decisive role in the region, specially in settling the Syrian crisis.

Rutte highlighted Irans constructive role in regional issues, and said all political parties in the Netherlands believe that the Islamic Republic can help resolve the Syrian crisis.

Rutte further expressed optimism about the expansion of economic and trade ties between the two countries.

President Rouhani, for his part, emphasized the need for all-out efforts to fulfill the demands of the Syrian people.
