Official: Rouhani government pragmatic

Khorramabad, Lorestan Prov., Oct 11 – Chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture says the Rouhani administration is not working “descriptively” and so far it has proven it is not a government of words but action.
Gholamhossein Shafeie, speaking at a joint session of government and private sector in this city in west of Iran, termed economic performance of the previous government in recent years “catastrophic”.

He said subjects that were raised at seminars and sessions during those years were not much different from those which are being discussed now but in the past no positive measure was taken for the improvement of the economy.

He said the private sector has entered the scene with a new outlook and all should cooperate to improve this august link between the government and the private sector and offer practical mechanisms for the development of the economy.

Shafeie noted that some semi-finished projects have not been started on the basis of expert studies therefore with regard to limitation of the resources those projects should not be completed and past mistakes should not be repeated.

Meanwhile, Governor General of Lorestan Province Houshang Bazvand said 22% of the mines in the country are located in the province as well as 5 thousand historical monuments of which 2,300 have been registered in the cultural heritage list of the country.

He stressed that the province enjoys outstanding potentials in the field of tourism and thus can be selected as the geo-tourism capital of the country.
