Iran, Azerbaijan Customs to facilitate trade
TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) During a meeting in Baku, the president of IRICA and the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan stressed on developing economic ties.

During the meeting of the president of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) with the Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan in Baku, the two stressed the necessity of the implementation of agreements reached in the ninth meeting of the two countries joint economic commission.


Masoud Karbasian, the president of IRICA, deemed the resolve of the two countries in developing ties serious and said, Iran is determined to implement the provisions of this MOU. We have agreed upon making the customs 24-hour and the implementation date will soon be announced.


Shahin Mostafayev, Minister of Economic Development in Azerbaijan, maintained, the meetings between the two countries are purposefully planned and thus, will have a positive impact on strengthening relations.


He noted that Iran and Azerbaijan have the potential to cooperate in the fields of trade, transit, energy, oil and agriculture and said, the role of customs in promoting trade, especially in the private sector, is very crucial.


Mostafayev pointed to the recent meeting between the two countries presidents in Astrakhan and the signed deal among the Caspian littoral states and said, this signed deal ensures increase in cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan.


He also announced that Azerbaijan is ready to establish a joint chamber of commerce and once Iran gives its consent, they will implement this project.


The president of IRICA has been officially invited by the Head of Customs Government Committee of Republic of Azerbaijan to visit this country. He held meetings with his Azeri counterpart, as well as Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations.
