Tehran, Sept 28, IRNA Head of Iran Census Organization Adel Aazar said the developed countries use census in their planning system and that Iran is among the top 20 world countries in census recording.
Speaking in a televised interview, the official said Iran conducts two types of general census: one on population and housing and the other on agriculture which are done according to international standards.
Stressing that the aim behind agricultural census is to collect reliable information in this sector, he said six thousand actuaries would refer to about 4.3 million people active in the field of agriculture.
He expressed the hope that the entire information collected would be published two months after the census and details nine months later according to international standards.
The official further remarked that 90 out of the 200 categories of the information required by the Sixth Development Plan would be maintained through this census which would show the position of the agriculture sector in the planning system.
