Tehran, Sept 28, IRNA Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari left for Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday heading a ranking delegation to attend annual meeting of the Executive Committee of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Program (commonly referred to as ExCom).
UNHCR's governing Executive Committee (ExCom) meets in Geneva annually to review and approve the agency's programs and budget, advise on international protection and discuss a wide range of other issues with UNHCR and its intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.
In his address to this year's meeting, Zolfaqari is to brief the participants on efforts made by Iran to serve foreign refugees residing in the country.
In his address to the meeting, he is also to present Tehran's proposals for meeting the problem of asylum seeking, voluntary repatriation to the motherland, and to augment international aid to help the Afghan reconstruction drive.
